SICCI member Kokonut Pacific has officially opened new virgin coconut oil processing facilities in Munda, Western Province, marking a significant expansion of its operations and creating over 50 new jobs in the region.
The company, which has been a SICCI member since 2008, works with over 3,000 smallholder coconut farmers across Solomon Islands, processing their coconuts into premium virgin coconut oil for export to international markets. The new Munda facility will enable the company to work with additional farming communities in the Western Province while reducing transportation costs and environmental impact.
Managing Director Dan Etherington spoke about the company's growth: 'Our success is built on partnerships with rural communities and a commitment to sustainable practices. The new facility allows us to create more value locally and provide better returns to our farmer partners.' SICCI CEO Ms. Natalina Hong congratulated the company: 'Kokonut Pacific demonstrates what's possible when businesses combine commercial success with genuine community benefit. They are exactly the type of enterprise that drives sustainable development in Solomon Islands.'
