The Chief Executive Officer of the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), Ms. Natalina Hong, met with Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet yesterday to discuss critical issues affecting the private sector.
The meeting focused on strategies to accelerate economic recovery, improve the ease of doing business, and strengthen public-private dialogue. Key topics included streamlining business registration processes, addressing infrastructure gaps particularly in telecommunications and energy, and developing policies to support local small and medium enterprises.
Prime Minister Manele reaffirmed the government's commitment to creating an enabling environment for business growth. 'The private sector is the engine of economic growth for Solomon Islands. We are committed to working closely with SICCI and the business community to remove barriers and create opportunities,' he stated. SICCI CEO Hong expressed optimism about the productive dialogue and looks forward to continued collaboration through the Joint Private Sector Consultative Committee.
