The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) released its Economic Outlook Report for 2026, projecting moderate GDP growth of 3.2% driven by tourism recovery, infrastructure investment, and expanding agricultural exports. The report highlights growth opportunities in eco-tourism, tuna processing, coconut oil and renewable energy while warning of challenges including inflation, foreign exchange constraints, infrastructure deficits and skills shortages.

SICCI CEO Natalina Hong met with Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to discuss accelerating economic recovery, improving the ease of doing business, and addressing infrastructure gaps in telecommunications and energy. The meeting emphasized support for local SMEs and strengthened public-private dialogue, with the Prime Minister reaffirming the government's commitment to create an enabling environment and continued collaboration through the Joint Private Sector Consultative Committee.
