In response to the increasing frequency of climate-related events and economic uncertainties, SICCI has launched a comprehensive Business Resilience Training Program designed to help local businesses prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions.
The program, developed in partnership with the Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation (PIPSO) and supported by the World Bank Group, covers disaster preparedness planning, business continuity management, financial risk mitigation, and supply chain diversification strategies. The curriculum has been tailored specifically for the Solomon Islands context, incorporating lessons learned from recent events including cyclone impacts and global supply chain disruptions.
SICCI CEO Ms. Natalina Hong explained the program's importance: 'Solomon Islands businesses face unique challenges from our geographic location and vulnerability to natural disasters. This program provides practical tools and knowledge to help our members build more resilient operations.' The first workshops will be held in Honiara in February 2026, with plans to extend delivery to Gizo, Auki, and other provincial centres throughout the year.
