The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) released its Economic Outlook Report for 2026, projecting moderate GDP growth of 3.2% driven by tourism recovery, infrastructure investment, and expanding agricultural exports. The report highlights growth opportunities in eco-tourism, tuna processing, coconut oil and renewable energy while warning of challenges including inflation, foreign exchange constraints, infrastructure deficits and skills shortages.

The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) to deliver a three-year vocational training program addressing skills gaps in construction, tourism and hospitality, and business administration. Supported by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the program aims to train over 500 Solomon Islanders with a focus on women and youth, commencing in March 2026 in Honiara and via workplace-based training with SICCI members.
